Lawn Mower Blade Sharpening

Having a sharp blade on your mower is very important. Dull blades do not cut cleanly, but rather shred the ends of the leaf blades. The shredded ends dry out, giving the lawn a whitish look. Under normal use, mower blades should be sharpened about every 10 hours of use or generally between 10 or 20 lawn mowings. Repeated mowing with a dull mower blade increases disease problems in turf. Sharp mower blades use 22% less fuel because of the decreased resistance when cutting. So keep your blades sharp to help keep your lawn looking good and reduce the use of fuel.
